  • Bayern Munich has the option to buy loaned player Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan
  • Bayern is unwilling to meet the Italian club's €15 million to €20 million demand for Perisic
  • Tottenham is once again knocking on Perisic's door, a report said

Bayern Munich is standing firm on its decision not to agree to Inter Milan's price tag for loanee Ivan Perisic, who is currently a target of Tottenham Hotspur as well, a report said.

After Perisic spent the 2019/20 season on-loan at Bayern, the Bundesliga champ intends to extend the Croatian winger’s time with the club but is unwilling to meet Inter’s asking fee, according to Italian outlet FC Inter News.

Perisic emerged as a notable player for Bayern, scoring eight goals and providing six assists across all competitions. His loaning club has the option to buy him for €20 million ($23 million) as part of last summer’s loan agreement.

However, with market values dropping due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, Inter is believed to be willing to accept an amount as low as €15 million ($18 million).

With a lowered price tag, Bayern can make Perisic a permanent player. But the Bundesliga club has no intention of offering anything more than €10 million ($12 million) for him, the report said.

But Bayern Munich could face some competition for Perisic as Tottenham and Leeds have also expressed interest in signing the veteran player, FC Inter News reported.

Jose Mourinho's interest in signing Perisic dates back to 2017. And after his last season with Bayern, the Spurs boss is believed to be considering his former prospect once again.

Mourinho, however, confirmed in April that there will be no massive changes happening in his side this transfer window.

“Massive changes? No. Not massive changes," Mourinho stated. "First of all because that is not what we think we need. Secondly because of the profile of the club. Third because of what the market is and year after year after year it is more difficult."

"So I am not thinking of an overhaul. Of course, we need to make our squad better, that is obvious," he added.

Apart from Perisic, the Spurs are already pursuing Skriniar, another Inter player shortlisted for a move away from Nerazzurri. Tottenham and Inter have been progressing in a swap deal involving Skriniar and Spurs outcast Tanguy Ndombele, previous reports said.

Just like Skriniar, Ndombele, the Spurs’ club-record signing who arrived from Lyon last summer, also failed to find success with his team this season. Milan’s transfer talks over defender Skriniar in exchange for Ndombele are said to have “intensified” in recent weeks, though a deal has yet to be finalized.

Inter has already put a price tag on Skriniar, and it is expected to be around €50 million ($59 million), Sempre Inter reported. Inter is said to be ready to approve the departure of the defender after he consistently fell down the pecking order during the latter stages of the campaign.
