Over 89,000 bike helmets have been recalled by Sakar International over a possible head injury risk.

The helmets were sold by Sakar International and they include the company’s Dimensions Bluetooth Speaker Multi-Purpose helmets that were sold exclusively at Walmart stores nationwide and on Walmart.com from July 2020 to January 2022.

The helmets are being recalled because they do not comply with the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s federal safety standard for bicycle helmets as they pose a risk of a head injury if a fall were to occur.

The recalled helmets are black and have black straps and a black buckle. They are also equipped with a white label on the inside of the helmet that contains the item # ACTGEAR-238BTS in the bottom left corner.

The cost of the helmet was about $25.

Sakar is urging consumers who have the helmet to immediately stop using it. They should contact the company for instructions on how to receive a free replacement helmet.

Consumers should not return the helmet to Walmart. They should contact Sakar for a free replacement as prepaid postage packaging will be sent for the return of the helmet.

Questions about the recall can be directed to Sakar anytime at 1-800-592-9541 or via email at support@sakar.com, or consumers can go online at https://www.vivitar.com/pages/recalls or www.vivitar.com by clicking on “Recalls” at the bottom of the page for more information.
