Black Friday is almost here, and Americans aren't the only ones getting in on the action. The day after Thanksgiving -- this year, that's Nov. 27 -- has long been known as one of the biggest shopping days in the U.S. But in the past five years, it has also become the biggest shopping day in the U.K., according to the Telegraph.

Now that American-style deals have invaded the U.K., online retailers and stores across the country are offering British shoppers steep discounts on everything from appliances to clothing to electronics. We’ve gathered some of the best deals available on Black Friday in the U.K.

Amazon.com

Amazon has raised its Black Friday game this year, with a whole section of its website dedicated to deals on the day after Thanksgiving. The online giant has been holding a week of so-called lightning deals with new promotions unveiled every 10 minutes, as well as offering so-called deals of the day. Hundreds of U.K.-based Amazon Marketplace sellers will participate in Black Friday too.

Some of the best deals are on electronics and gift items. The "Guitar Hero Live 2" Guitar Bundle (PS4, Xbox One), for example, has been discounted to £74.99 from £124.99. And the Philips Wake-Up Light Alarm Clock with Sunrise Simulation was £57.56 and is now £39.99. You can also get 72 percent off a Philips S5320/06 Series 5000 electric shaver at £47.49.

AO.com

This popular online retailer is a great place to buy televisions and other appliances. It will be taking up to £500 off 4,000 televisions, with an average saving of £150 across all TV and sound devices. For small appliances, like coffee machines and food processors, AO.com is knocking 70 percent off the usual price. Washing machines will be £100 off their original prices, and American fridge-freezer combinations will be 25 percent off.

Argos

Argos has been running Red, White and Blue Fridays leading up to Black Friday as part of its Christmas campaign this year. Some of the best deals are: the LG 4K Ultra HD Freeview TV, which has been reduced by £300 to £399; Beats Solo 2 on-ear headphones for £99.99; and the Canon SX410 20MP Camera, which has been reduced to £99.99.

Asda

Asda, which is owned by the American Walmart, is toning down its Black Friday promotions this year, after it saw chaotic scenes -- much like its U.S. counterpart -- in 2014. It has changed its strategy and will be offering a total of £26m off its products throughout November and December instead of just cutting prices on big items for Black Friday.

Some of the best deals Asda is offering include: half-price toys, and deals on skincare, fragrance and gift items with a three for £10 offer, as well as items like the Oral B 2500 electric toothbrush, down to £29.97 from the original price of £75.00. It also has £10 champagne and six bottles of wine for £25.

Asos

Asos began its Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales early this year. The online fashion retailer is offering up to 70 percent off men’s and women’s fashions at Asos Outlet in the run-up to Black Friday.

Boots

Another store that began its shopping celebration early. Boots if offering customers half price on some Elizabeth Arden lipsticks, and selling perfumes and gift sets at big discounts. Michael Kors Woman Eau de Parfum will be discounted from £56.50 to £39.55, Versace Eros Pour Femme Eau de Parfum is down to £49 from £70, and the Sanctuary gift set, which includes bath and body products, will sell for £22.50 instead of its regular £45.

Carphone Warehouse

Carphone Warehouse has been running a 10-day “Black Tag” event that will include sales on Black Friday. Shoppers can get deals on phones and contracts for devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, the HTC A9 and the Huawei P8.

Currys PC World

Yet another store that started its deals in advance. Currys PC World is offering more than 3,000 deals in the lead-up to Black Friday and on the day itself. Sales start online at 6 a.m. on Black Friday, with large stores opening then and smaller locations opening at 8 a.m.

Brands including Nespresso, Dyson, HP, Bosch, Samsung, Sony, Beats and LG will see discounts. Shoppers can save £600 on the Samsung 60JU6000 60 inch 4K TV and £150 on the Samsung 58J5200 58-inch Smart TV.

Dyson

Customers can save up to £350 on some products at Dyson, and you can sign up here to receive details on the Black Friday offers.

eBay

The site has been running a Black Friday promotion all week, unveiling new deals every morning at 8 a.m. through Nov. 30. Ebay expects 9 million U.K. visitors to flock to its website on Black Friday, so get ready to be quick if you want to take advantage of deals there.

John Lewis

The department store launched a Black Friday website and will be offering steep discounts across hundreds of electronic items in its store and online.

Marks & Spencer

The store’s website started offering deals before Black Friday and promises 50 percent off “hot buys.” These will include deals on clothing, beauty products, homeware and Christmas items.

The Original Factory Shop

The U.K.’s largest discount department store is participating in Black Friday with deals online and in stores across the country. It will be offering discounts on sofa beds, coffee makers, and other home appliances at deeply discounted prices.

Park Resorts

If your family is planning a holiday, Black Friday might be a good time to book the tickets. Starting at 9 a.m. on Black Friday, you can get a four-night trip between February and June for as low as £59 per vacation home , or £89 on the Isle of Wight, with ferry included.

Another deal the resort company is offering will come on Cyber Monday. Starting at 9 a.m. on Nov. 30, get a three-night stay between February and May for £69 per home.

This year, more stores than ever are participating in the Black Friday madness in the U.K. For more deals and a list of stores participating in the discounts, check out these roundups and make sure to check the hours on your local shops to see how early you’ll need to get there to beat the rush.
