Blackpink fans, known as BLINKS, started a Twitter protest Sunday demanding YG Entertainment to prepare the comeback activities of the group whose last album was released in 2020.

BLINKS unleashed some strong words against YG Entertainment in the two trending topics they started on Twitter: “#WeWantBlackpinkMusic” and “Blinks.” Both topics made up tweets echoing the fandom’s request for the entertainment agency to release a new album for K-pop's most-successful girl group.

“It's been 15 months and counting since their last comeback! We won't be stopping unless you give a response, don't play blind and deaf. HEAR US YOU, YG ENTERTAINMENT! WE WANT BLACKPINK NEW MUSIC @yg_entofficial YGE, respond to Blinks!,” user @ezblink said.

Another fan threatened a boycott for the quartet’s merchandise until YG announces a new schedule for the four-piece act.

"Blinks demand an update on the status of @BLACKPINKs comeback, Jisoo's solo debut and Jennie's comeback. We no longer have the goodwill to fund @yg_entofficial & will continue to BOYCOTT Blackpink merchandise. YGE, respond to Blinks!"

Another user chimed in, "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! We won't be silent this time, its been 15 months and counting. Don't halt their achievements and success, don't waste their precious talents! — BLACKPINK DESERVED BETTER YGE, respond to Blinks!"

The fandom did not only request for the group’s return on stage but also for new schedules for its individual members.

Blackpink, composed of Jennie Kim, Kim Ji-Soo, Lalisa Manobal and Roseann Park embarked on their first world tour, “In Your Area” in November 2018. It ended in February 2020 in Japan just before the nation implemented strict lockdowns due to the pandemic.

In the same year, Blackpink released their highly-successful album, “The Album” which contained the chart-topping hits “How You Like That” and the Selena Gomez collaboration track, “Ice Cream.”

Although the group did not release an album in 2021, two of its members – Lisa and Rosé released their solo projects. Jennie had released her solo album earlier in 2018 which leaves Jisoo as the only Blackpink member who is yet to release a solo album.

YG Entertainment has not made an announcement regarding the group’s return to the recording studio. However, Lisa previously said that the group is secretly working on new music.
