Blackpink member Jennie Kim is set to make her acting debut in the upcoming HBO series “The Idol” from “Euphoria” creator Sam Levinson and The Weeknd.

After weeks of speculation, the first teaser trailer for the series appeared to confirm the 26-year-old South Korean pop star’s casting.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted her in the sneak peek, which premiered during The Weeknd’s “After Hours til Dawn” concert in MetLife Stadium, New Jersey, Saturday, Soompi reported.

In the trailer for “The Idol,” Jennie, who wore a blue crop top and black shorts, briefly appeared alongside a group that includes Lily-Rose Depp’s character.

The video was also released on YouTube, where Blackpink fans expressed support for Jennie’s new project.

“Jennie, who is making her debut as an actress, is without a doubt the best girl, and her performance is going to surprise us all,” one user wrote.

“I don’t really watch many dramas, but because Jennie’s in it, I’ll definitely check this out,” another commented.

In June, rumors surfaced that Jennie was offered a role in the new series, which was co-created by The Weeknd, his producing partner Reza Fahim and Levinson. YG Entertainment, Blackpink’s talent agency, has yet to issue an official statement regarding her casting.

Fans are looking forward to seeing the multi-talented star on the small screen as Blackpink, whose members also include Lisa, Jisoo and Rosé, has not released new music since 2020.

However, according to Soompi, a representative for YG Entertainment confirmed earlier this month that the pop group is in the final stages of recording their new album.

Though it is not clear what Jennie's role in the series is, the trailer seemed to hint that it wouldn’t be too far from her usual singer, dancer and rapper persona.

“The Idol” follows the story of an up-and-coming pop singer (Depp), who develops a complicated relationship with a Los Angeles club owner and cult leader, played by The Weeknd.

The series' cast also includes Troye Sivan, Adebimpe, Anne Heche, Melanie Liburd, Steve Zissis, Elizabeth Berkley Lauren, Hari Nef and Nico Hiraga.

The official premiere date of “The Idol” has yet to be announced, but the trailer revealed that it is “coming soon” on HBO Max.
