Being a mother of three isn’t easy, and Blake Lively recently opened up about how the joys of expanding her family resulted in some dark moments.

On Saturday, the 33-year-old shared a post on her Instagram Story in which she recalled her struggle to accept her post-baby weight.

Lively shared a photo of herself from a January 2020 appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Us Weekly reports.

“I put together a @lanvinofficial shirt and dress from @netaporter to make this pretty outfit. Because no one had samples that fit me after giving birth. And so many clothes from stores didn’t fit either. So. Many,” she explained.

“It doesn’t send a great message to women when their bodies don’t fit into what brands have to offer. It’s alienating and confusing. And I wish I felt as confident then as I do now, a year later looking back.”

Although she did not feel she looked her best, Lively reflected on the fact that her body in the photo allowed her to give birth to another child. “That body gave me a baby. And was producing that baby’s entire food supply,” she wrote.

“What a beautiful miracle. But instead of feeling proud, I felt insecure. Simply because I didn’t fit into clothes. How silly is that in retrospect.”

Lively went on to express the importance of encouraging designers to be more inclusive for women of all body types.

Although Lively’s post touched on a serious topic, the actress has a history of sharing humorous social media posts and is no stranger to poking fun at her image.

In December, the “A Simple Favor” star shared a selfie on her Instagram Story with messy hair and no makeup. In the post, the actress appeared to be on a mock cover of Vogue Italia. “Get The Look, 2020 Edition,” Lively jokingly captured the photo.

Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds are known to hilariously troll one another and poke fun at themselves on social media.
