They were all stunned to learn that Spectra's building had gone up in flames and the company was officially done. But after quickly putting the pieces together, Liam has learned the truth, and will now confront his father, Bill, for ordering the fire to be lit on the Wednesday, Aug. 30 episode of "The Bold and the Beautiful."

Bill (Don Diamont) has wanted the site of the Spectra building for months so he could build a new skyscraper in its place, but every attempt to knock them down has backfired on him thus far on the CBS soap. After hearing about the small electrical fire during the preview Sally (Courtney Hope) gave Liam (Scott Clifton) and Jarrett (Andrew Collins), he realized he had a way to get what he wanted. After checking to make sure the building had no insurance policy on it, he ordered for the fire to be set, destroying Sally's new collection with it.

Liam quickly realized what no one else has, and excused himself from the hospital after he did so. Now, he is at Spencer, and he is demanding that his father tell him the truth and admit to whether or not he ordered the fire to be set.

"Did you order Spectra Fashions to be torched tonight?" He asks in a preview clip.

Bill will admit that he gave the order, but will shock his son further when he justifies his actions as also being helpful to Sally and the Spectra team, because he feels they were wasting their time trying to revive the fashion house, and they were never going to find the success they felt was possible.

"Bold and the Beautiful"
Bill's (Don Diamont) decision to hand Spencer over to Liam (Scott Clifton) will be questioned on the Sept. 8, 2017 episode of "The Bold and the Beautiful." CBS

"I put Sally and that bottom feeder company of hers out of their misery," he says.

Liam will be dumbfounded that his father will feel he's in the right, since what he did is genuinely a crime now, one that could get him sent to prison if the truth ever got out. Of course, Bill may remind Liam that if he turns against him, there will be severe consequences for his betrayal. He already warned his son that if he spilled the truth about Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) not actually being deathly ill, he would disown him, which means the stakes are higher if he tells the truth this time.

Meanwhile, even those at Forrester are rattled by the news about what happened to Spectra, including Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), who has been Sally's mortal enemy and was even behind Bill's initial plan of getting Thomas (Pierson Fode) and Sally apart so that he could no longer contribute to their creative process. Now, while she is unaware of the new dramatic direction Bill took to get what he wanted, she will admit that she's saddened to hear about what's happened, and will also express sympathy for Sally, who is heartbroken that her dreams have all literally burned to the ground.

"I actually feel sorry for Sally," Steffy admits to Ridge (Thorsten Kaye).

"The Bold and the Beautiful" airs weekdays at 1:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
