Gearbox Software, the game developer behind the popular first shooter game "Borderlands 3," may now have the reason to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Borderlands game series. The lawsuit between the company's former lawyer, Wade Callender, and Gearbox Software's CEO Randy Pitchford has finally come to an end. Both parties have, reportedly, resolved all claims between them.

According to reports, a joint statement was filed at the Judicial District of Dallas in Texas. The statement confirmed that Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford has been exonerated from the claims against him and the two parties have reportedly apologized. The misunderstanding between the two parties has been corrected, according to GameSpot.

Gearbox Software, previously, filed a lawsuit against its former lawyer, Wade Callender. The company accused Callender of fraud. The former lawyer fired back with his own lawsuit containing numerous claims like Pitchford awarded himself a secret bonus of $12 million.

In addition to that, Callender also claimed that Pitchford accidentally left a USB drive at a restaurant. The USB contained secret company documents and videos of "underage" pornography and numerous sex activities. The Gearbox CEO has consistently denied all those claims.

Meanwhile, the developer is set to celebrate the upcoming 10th anniversary of the Borderlands franchise. As part of the big celebration, the company plans a month-long event, which will be called the "Borderlands Anniversary Celebration," with more boss loot. Each week will be huge celebrations. The month-long event will start with Boss Week, which will run from October 1 to October 7.

On the game’s official Twitter account, Gearbox officially announced the start of Boss Week. This will be followed by the Rare Spawn Hunt Week; the developer has yet to provide details about the next week’s event.

The first "Borderlands" game was first introduced in October 2009. Since then, it becomes one of the most popular video games in the market. The publisher has already sold more than 45 million copies of "Borderlands" games, making it one of the best selling gaming franchises in the market.

Gearbox’s initial success with the first "Borderlands" games prompted it to take a follow-up move. In 2012, it launched the second installment of the "Borderlands" series, the critically-acclaimed "Borderlands 2." In 2014, Gearbox joined game publisher 2K Australia to launch the "Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel."

In 2019, Gearbox and 2K Games teamed up for the fourth installment in the series, "Borderlands 3." Like the previous entries, the latest "Borderlands 3" focuses more on Vaults and legendary tombs.

There’s also the "Tales from the Borderlands," an episodic game developed jointly by Telltale Games and Gearbox Software. In addition to the games, there’s also a film adaptation of the "Borderlands" series. This film adaptation is currently being developed by Lionsgate, a US-based entertainment company.

"Borderlands" is currently available across all gaming platforms. Check the video below, to get more about the upcoming celebration.
