There’s been a slew of rumors he was hoping to reconnect and maybe even one day reunite with his former wife, Jennifer Aniston. However, the latest round of reports is claiming that Brad Pitt instead hopes to win back his current estranged wife, Angelina Jolie.

According to Life & Style, which previously reported that Pitt and Jolie’s divorce negotiations have been stalled because they are having a hard time agreeing on whether or not their six children should have a home base in Los Angeles, the 53-year-old actor is hoping that meeting up to hash out an agreement over the kids will help he and Jolie reconnect and start over again.

“She has invited Brad over to her new Los Feliz mansion, which is close to his house,” a source told the magazine. “Part of him hopes they can resume their lives together and have a new beginning.”

The magazine also warns that that Pitt’s friends are worried that he’s allowing himself to get pulled in to a trap however, and that when he realizes his soon-to-be ex-wife is doing that, it could send him off the rails.

“Brad has blinders on when it comes to Angie,” the source claimed. “His friends are very concerned that she is using him to get the divorce agreement changed, and once he realizes that, it could send him spinning.”

While there has been no comment yet from Pitt’s reps which are refuting this story, it should be noted that the report comes just days after a conflicting one published by In Touch, which claimed that he was actually hoping to reunite with a different ex—Jennifer Aniston, to whom he was married from 2000-2005, and divorced in order to be with Jolie.

That report, which was shot down by Gossip Cop, claimed that now that Pitt was clean from drugs and alcohol, he had apologized to his former wife for all of the hurt he caused her when he left her for Jolie, and her gracious attitude over his gesture had him wondering if he would have left her so long ago if it hadn’t been for his “dependency” on drugs and alcohol.

“He now believes that leaving Jen for Angie was the biggest mistake of his life,” a source said. “As it stands, Brad is in love with his first wife again. And like his fans, friends and loved ones, he feels he never should have broken up with Jen 12 years ago. Jen will always be the love of Brad's life.”

That report, as well as one a few weeks prior which also claimed that he had apologized to Aniston and she suggested “starting over” as friends, were both slammed as “complete nonsense” by the actor’s reps.

Pitt has only publicly spoken about his divorce from Jolie in an interview with GQ, which was published back in May. At the time, he mentioned that he and Jolie were still working on their custody agreement over their children, but said that following his being cleared of abuse allegations by the FBI, things were getting easier.

“Yeah, we’re working on that now,” he said at the time. “It was all that for a while. I was really on my back and chained to a system when Child Services was called. And you know, after that, we’ve been able to work together to sort this out. We’re both doing our best...It’s just very, very jarring for the kids, to suddenly have their family ripped apart.”
