South Korean band BTS’s latest full-length Japanese album "Map of the Soul: 7 – The Journey" ranked No.1 on the Billboard’s World Albums chart.

"Map of the Soul: 7 – The Journey" is BTS’s fourth Japanese studio album and was released on July 14, 2020.

After a decent start on the charts, "Map of the Soul: 7 - The Journey" initially ranked second on the charts since its debut. However, the album finally climbed its way to the No.1 spot this week.

It is also their 10th album to reach the No.1 stop on the Billboard’s World Album Chart. This no longer comes as a surprise as the band continues to impress its audience and sets record with every new release.

BTS’s album titled "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 2" was the first to rank No.1 on the charts back in Dec. 2015. In Oct. 2016 "Wings" became the band's second album to make it to the top ranking on the charts. In 2017, the albums titled "You Never Walk Alone" and "Love Yourself: Her" also topped the charts.

In 2018, BTS managed to have three of its titles top the rankings on the World Albums Chart in a year with the albums "Face Yourself", "Love Yourself: Tear" and "Love Yourself: Answer".

The other albums that previously made it to the No.1 spot on the charts are "Map of the Soul: Persona", "BTS World: Original Soundtrack", and "Map of the Soul: 7". In 2019, they successfully broke the record set by the Beatles for having three different albums rank #1 on Billboard 200 within a year for the first time in the past 55 years.

BTS which is also known as "Bulletproof Boy Scouts" debuted as a South Korean boy band under Big Hit Entertainment in 2013. They have since become the most popular and influential K-Pop band in the world. According to Forbes, no other K-pop band has even come close to match the track record set by BTS on this roster.

Meanwhile, the group will be releasing its new digital single "Dynamite" on Aug. 21 and is set to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards for the first time Aug. 30.
