The Buffalo Bills haven’t had a positive coronavirus test since the start of the 2020 NFL season, but the team could have its schedule disrupted because of an outbreak within the league.

Another Tennessee Titans’ player tested positive for the coronavirus Thursday, bringing the total number to 12 in a little over a week. Tennessee’s Week 4 game with the Pittsburgh Steelers was pushed to Week 7. It appears almost certain that the Week 5 game between the Titans and Bills won’t be played as originally scheduled.

Buffalo is supposed to visit Tennessee Sunday and host the Kansas City Chiefs just four days later on “Thursday Night Football.” It’s possible that the league could move both contests by a couple of days in order for the Bills to avoid any cancellations.

Players for the Titans and Bills have been told there is an option for Sunday’s game to be played Monday or Tuesday, ESPN’s Dianna Russini reports. Doing so would result in Thursday's game between Buffalo and Kansas City being played Saturday.

That plan is likely contingent on Tennessee returning no more positive tests this week.

Kansas City is scheduled to host the Las Vegas Raiders Sunday. The Chiefs haven’t had a positive test since hosting the New England Patriots in Week 4. Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore played in the game and has since tested positive for the coronavirus.

The Titans, Bills and Chiefs are all undefeated one month into the season.

If anyone didn’t want a disruption to their schedule, it might be Buffalo. The Bills could have their best chance to contend for a Super Bowl in over two decades now that Tom Brady is gone from the AFC East and Josh Allen is performing like an MVP-candidate.

Buffalo has a two-game lead over New England for first place in the division. The Bills last won the AFC East in 1995. It was also the last year in which Buffalo won a playoff game.

The Bills are scheduled to play the New York Jets in Week 7 and the Patriots in Week 8. Buffalo’s bye is set for Week 11.
