There could potentially be only 13 games on the Week 5 schedule because of byes and positive coronavirus tests around the NFL. Four teams are favored on the road, and a pair of winless teams are home favorites.

Here are picks against the spread for every game in Week 5 of the 2020 season, as well as the latest betting odds. Betting lines and trends are courtesy of OddsShark.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3.5) at Chicago Bears

The line has moved toward Chicago with all of Tampa Bay’s top receivers missing practice early in the week. Even a banged-up Buccaneers’ offense is significantly better than a Bears’ offense that ranks 26th in yards per play. Tom Brady is coming off his best game of the season with five touchdown passes. The Bucs are fourth in yards per play allowed.

Prediction ATS: Tampa Bay

Carolina Panthers (+2) at Atlanta Falcons

Why are the winless Falcons favored over the 2-2 Panthers? A surprisingly efficient Carolina offense will have success against an Atlanta defense that can’t stop anyone. The Panthers are ninth in yards per play and 11th in total offense, coming off consecutive victories over the Chargers and Cardinals. The Falcons are 30th in opponents’ yards per play and have surrendered at least 30 points in every game.

Prediction ATS: Carolina

Las Vegas Raiders (+13) at Kansas City Chiefs

The Raiders continue to show that they can’t hang with Super Bowl contenders, losing comfortably to the Patriots and Bills in consecutive weeks. The Chiefs have outscored the Raiders 143-55 in four meetings with Mahomes under center. Kansas City is 9-0 against the spread in its last nine home games.

Prediction ATS: Kansas City

Los Angeles Rams (-7) at Washington Football Team

There’s little reason to believe Washington’s offense will be any better with Kyle Allen replacing Dwayne Haskins. Washington’s new starter ended last season with 10 touchdown passes and 16 interceptions over nine games. The Rams are one of two NFL teams that rank in the top-11 in both yards per play and yards per play allowed.

Prediction ATS: Los Angeles

Jacksonville Jaguars (+6) at Houston Texans

Houston shouldn’t be favored by more than six points against any opponent after a 0-4 start. Sure, the Texans have lost to some very good teams, but they were also beaten in Week 4 by the Vikings, who entered the contest without a victory. Houston has surrendered at least 28 points in every game and given up a 115.1 passer rating to opposing quarterbacks.

Prediction ATS: Jacksonville

Arizona Cardinals (-7) at New York Jets

The line probably shouldn’t be this high, even with Joe Flacco now starting for maybe the NFL’s worst team. The Cardinals are coming off a pair of disappointing losses to the Lions and Panthers. New York does have four interceptions, and Kyler Murray has been picked off five times this season. The Jets rank higher than the Cardinals in total defense.

Prediction ATS: New York

Philadelphia Eagles (+7) at Pittsburgh Steelers

It’s difficult to lay a touchdown with the Steelers, considering their offense hasn’t been great and the Eagles’ defense has played well. Philadelphia is fifth in opponents’ yards per play and first with 17 sacks. Carson Wentz just had his best game of the season, potentially a sign that he’s coming out of his early-season funk.

Prediction ATS: Philadelphia

Cincinnati Bengals (+13) at Baltimore Ravens

The Bengals have been competitive in every game, never losing by more than five points. Joe Burrow has thrown for at least 300 yards in three straight games. Cincinnati is 4-0-1 against the spread in its last five games.

Prediction ATS: Cincinnati

Miami Dolphins (+8.5) at San Francisco 49ers

It’s not yet known which quarterback will start for San Francisco, though it might not even matter. As long as it’s not Nick Mullens throwing a pair of killer interceptions, which happened in Week 4, the 49ers should win going away. The 49ers have a top-three defense, while the Dolphins rank dead last in yards per play allowed. San Francisco is eighth in yards per play, putting them 17 spots ahead of Miami and Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Prediction ATS: San Francisco

New York Giants (+9.5) at Dallas Cowboys

As bad as New York’s offense has been, it’s possible Dallas’ defense has been worse. The Cowboys are giving up a league-worst 36.5 points per game. Despite their struggles, the Giants have only been defeated by more than 10 points once this season. Dallas is still trying to cover its first spread of the season.

Prediction ATS: New York

Indianapolis Colts (-1.5) at Cleveland Browns

Grabbing the points is probably the right move in a game between a pair of 3-1 teams. Indianapolis has the NFL’s top-ranked defense after facing a weak schedule. Let’s see how the Colts handle the No.1 rushing attack and a Cleveland team that’s averaging 39.3 points over its last three games. The Browns are allowed to have 12,000 fans in attendance.

Prediction ATS: Cleveland

Minnesota Vikings (+7) at Seattle Seahawks

Behind Russell Wilson and his league-leading 136.7 passer rating, Seattle has scored more than 30 points in every game. Minnesota’s defense has been a disaster, ranking 25th or worse in opponents’ passer rating, total defense and yards per play allowed. Pete Carroll’s Seahawks are 4-0 against Mike Zimmer’s Vikings. Seattle beat Minnesota by seven points last year and 14 points in 2018.

Prediction ATS: Seattle

Los Angeles Chargers (+7.5) at New Orleans Saints

The Chargers played both Mahomes’ Chiefs and Brady’s Bucs down to the wire. Los Angeles can do the same against the Saints and Drew Brees, who is probably no longer an elite quarterback. Every Chargers’ game has been decided by one score. New Orleans has given up at least 29 points in three straight games.

Prediction: Los Angeles

Buffalo Bills at Tennessee Titans, Denver Broncos at New England Patriots

There are currently no lines available for these games because of positive coronavirus tests.
