California Car Crash: 2 Women, Dog Killed After Vehicle Crashes Into Fence, Plunges Down Cliff

Two women and a dog were killed in a car accident after their SUV crashed into a fence and plunged down a 200 feet cliff in Potrero hill, California, on Tuesday night. A man who was also inside the vehicle was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

The incident occurred around 7:30​ p.m. Tuesday night when a silver Nissan SUV crashed through a fence at a T intersection of 25th and Dakota streets before landing on a parking lot used for commuter buses 200 feet below a cliff.

One of the women, later identified as 28-year-old Angelique Starks, hailing from San Francisco, was declared dead at the scene. The identity of the other victim, who was rushed to the hospital but was later pronounced dead, is still unknown.

A dog in the vehicle, believed to be their pet, was ejected out of the crashed car. It was also pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, a 911 caller misguided the dispatchers by providing incorrect information. According to the police, the caller reported about the accident saying the vehicle crashed on Interstate Highway 280 which is several blocks away from the actual crash site.

The cause of the crash was not known. The police were investigating the crash.

In a similar incident, an Arizona mother, reportedly drunk driving with her infant child inside, crashed the vehicle into a fence near 35th Avenue and Sherman Street around in the afternoon of April 13. The woman, 33-year-old Sussan Lira, was detained on suspicion of aggravated DUI and endangerment. During interrogation she confessed that she had consumed two bottles of Mad Dog. The baby girl who suffered bruises on her back was transferred to the custody of the Arizona Department of Child Safety.
