Cameron Diaz has learned how to value herself more, thanks to her husband, "Good Charlotte" rocker Benji Madden.

The 49-year-old actress showered her 42-year-old spouse with praises during her appearance on Tuesday's episode of Michelle Visage's "Rule Breakers" podcast, according to People.

When Visage asked Diaz why her marriage has been successful, the "Charlie's Angels" star replied, "He's really taught me to value myself a lot more."

She explained to the "RuPaul's Drag Race" host that she wasn't expecting to feel that way because she didn't hope to be validated by previous partners. Besides, she was "receiving so much validation elsewhere and in all these other ways" back then.

However, with her marriage to Madden, Diaz learned to "really go all in."

"Nothing else comes before this. It's not hard to do, because it's the most valuable thing I have," she said about their bond. "We know that, no matter what, we can just go and be just a family anywhere, and we're fine. We don't need any of the things that we have, other than each other."

Diaz and Madden tied the knot in 2015. They share a 2-year-old daughter named Raddix.

The "Bad Teacher" star also shared on the podcast that Madden is "just a guy I can totally count on."

"I married a mensch," Diaz joked. "I know how hard it is to find... He's hilarious and he's so funny. And he's the best dad ever. I could cry because he's just the best."

Diaz then told Visage she finds it "interesting" to see women who are 15 to 20 years younger than she is having younger children. "It's an interesting place to be because I'm not that age and that's totally okay. I didn't do it then. I'm doing it now," she explained.

Diaz, who will turn 50 this year, wants to ensure she can still run around and play with her daughter. "I want my energy to stay vital," she explained. "I want to feel that way to her. I don't want her to feel like she has an old mom."

The actress opened up about marriage and family in an episode of makeup artist Gucci Westman's YouTube series "Makeup & Friends" in April 2020.

"I love being married," she said at the time. "The best thing that ever happened to me is finding my husband and our partnership and his friendship and all that."
