Camilla Parker Bowles isn't a great beauty, but she knows how to attract men, according to one author.

Jessica Jayne, author of the book "The Duchess of Cornwall: Camilla's Story and Secrets," made several claims about Camilla's early life. According to her, Prince Chares' second wife "wasn't a beauty," but she had an "even-tempered personality that many men found attractive," (as quoted by Express).

Jayne also described Camilla as a "boy magnet" who "wasn't blessed with the good looks, but made up for it with her earthy sexuality that attracted the boys to her."

"She was into boys much quicker than other girls her age," Camilla's childhood friend, Broderick Munro-Wilson, said.

Camilla is reportedly into riding, hunting, and jumping, which most women are not interested in. These characteristics intrigued some men who found them attractive in a woman. In addition, Camilla can easily discuss and relate to men on subjects that interest them like fishing, sports and hunting.

Jayne added that Camilla "mothered" Prince Charles in the early stages of their love affair. This is reportedly what the Prince of Wales "craved from his own mother."

According to royal author Penny Junor, Queen Elizabeth II wasn't a warm mom to the future king. This is because she was too occupied with her role as a monarch and Head of the Commonwealth.

"The Queen, to be fair to her, was being Queen," Junor explained. "For most of Charles' childhood and the rest of his life, she was on a pedestal and he did not have a warm and cosy relationship with his mother."

To make the matter worse, Prince Charles relationship with his father, Prince Philip, wasn't that great, too. The heir was closest to the Queen Mother growing up. In fact, there was a time that the Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen Mother clashed over Prince Charles because the 97-year-old senior royal wanted to send his son to Gordonstoun in Scotland to toughen up Prince Charles.

Aside from the Queen Mother, Prince Charles has a close relationship with Camilla. Their connection is unlike what he had with Princess Diana and his other exes.

"I think he had a closer relationship to Camilla than practically anybody. He really really loved her," Junor said. "They had so much in common their brains kind of worked in the same way. I guess he didn't meet anyone else who quite matched up to her," Junor said.
