Princess Diana is not the only woman in Prince Charles' life who lived in the shadow of Camilla Parker Bowles.

In an explosive documentary on Netflix's "Royal House of Windsor," it was revealed that aside from Princess Diana, Prince Charles had another ex that also experienced how strong Camilla's presence is in the Prince of Wales' life.

Prince Charles became acquainted with Lady Jane Wellesley, the Duke of Wellington's daughter in 1973. She is beautiful and belongs to the high social ranks. Lady Jane was deemed as the prime candidate to marry Prince Charles but she backed out when she realized Prince Charles and Camilla's relationship.

"Any pretty woman who was around wanted to be seen on the arm of the Prince of Wales," royal biographer Christopher Wilson said (as quoted by Express). "But pretty soon, they came to the realisation of what it was like to live with a man who was in love with somebody else."

"And Lady Jane Wellesley was an early example of that, and everybody looked to her as the new Princess of Wales but she saw very early on the shadow of Camilla," Wilson continued.

Prince Charles and Lady Jane's relationship ended in 1974 due to intense media scrutiny. She was once asked if there was to be an engagement. "Do you honestly believe I want to be Queen?" she said.

According to Penny Junor, Prince Charles and Camilla's relationship is like no other. There's no other woman who captured Prince Charles' heart the way Camilla did.

"I think he had a closer relationship to Camilla than practically anybody. He really really loved her," Junor said. "They had so much in common their brains kind of worked in the same way. I guess he didn't meet anyone else who quite matched up to her."

Although Prince Charles was so into Camilla, he didn't get to marry him because the royal family didn't approve her. They find the Duchess of Cornwall to be an "experienced" woman and not "aristocratic" enough for the future king. Camilla went on and married Andrew Parker Bowles while Prince Charles tied the knot with Princess Diana.

However, both of their first marriages didn't work. According to the late Princess of Wales, "there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded," implying about Prince Charles and Camilla's affair. Prince Charles and Camilla eventually rekindled their romance and got married.
