Camilla Parker Bowles will reportedly be a great consort as the future Queen, says Charles Anson, the former press secretary of Queen Elizabeth II.

While speaking with People, Anson praised Bowles for her ability to ease Prince Charles off his burdens.

“She’s got a good philosophy about life: There are things you can change, other things you can’t change… Don’t get too hung up about it. And I think she’ll be a great consort as queen,” he said.

Prince Charles and Bowles first met through their mutual friend at a polo match in 1970. Their connection was instant, according to Penny Junor, a royal biographer.

In his book, “The Duchess: The Untold Story,” Junor wrote, “He loved the fact that she smiled with her eyes as well as her mouth, and laughed at the same silly things as he did. He also liked that she was so natural and easy and friendly, not in any way overawed by him, not fawning of sycophantic. In short, he was very taken with her, and after the first meeting her began ringing her up.”

Fast forward to years later, Prince Charles and Bowles married their respective partners. However, they still saw each other behind their spouses’ backs. Princess Diana was aware of Prince Charles and Bowles’ affair.

Before her death, the Princess of Wales said, “I was terrified of her. I said, ‘I know what’s going on between you and Charles and I just want you to know that.’ She said to me: ‘You’ve got everything you ever wanted. You’ve got all the men in the world to fall in love with you and you’ve got two beautiful children, what more do you want?’ So I said, ‘I want my husband.’ And I said, ‘I’m sorry I’m in the way… and it must be hell for both of you. But I do know what’s going on. Don’t treat me like an idiot,” Princess Diana said.
