The former “Saturday Night Live” star also wore red heels to match her dress. On the other hand, Slate’s boyfriend went casual with a white collared polo shirt and dark pants. The two celebrities even posed together with the actress’ hand resting on Evan’s lower chest.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight during the event, Slate described her beau as a boyfriend that she has been dreaming of since she was a young girl. “It's kind of like I got my dream 7th-grade boyfriend,” she commented. She also revealed that both she and Evans have been friends “for a while.”

The two Hollywood stars met on the set of the movie “Gifted” in 2015. Both are also said to be Massachusetts natives. The actress even shared that she and Evans grew up around thirty minutes away from each other. However, she clarified that they did not grow up together.

Slate also stated that she was happy to have the actor beside her during the premiere, as indicated in the same report. She revealed that she has yet to experience going to a huge movie premiere event. “It's nice to have someone who knows how it goes," the actress said of Evans.

Apart from Evans, some of Slate’s family members also joined the actress for the premiere of “The Secret Life of Pets.” The actress’ sister Abby attended the event, including a few of Slate’s nephews and nieces.
