Ronald Dunlap, the father of "Cheer" star Cassadee Dunlap, was in critical condition after being shot multiple times in Arkansas, the Little Rock Police Department said.

The incident occurred when Ronald, 49, was returning home from a bar with his nephew. However, Ronald entered the wrong apartment complex in Little Rock in the wee hours of the morning, and tried to force his way into a condo he mistook for his own.

During the commotion, the homeowner of the said apartment shot Ronald at least five to six times, leaving him in critical condition, KARK-TV reported.

The police arrived at the residence at around 3:12 a.m. ET after someone called to say their uncle had been shot. Arriving deputies found Ronald lying face down in the apartment.

Deputies identified the homeowner as Joshua Womack, who told the cops Ronald tried to enter his apartment at around 3:00 a.m. ET when he was fast asleep. Womack said after hearing a loud bang at his door, he woke up and grabbed his gun.

"I heard a big, loud thud through the front door," Womack said. "The door was actually knocked off the hinges. With that, he ended up bum-rushing it. It wasn't like an accidental walk-in."

Womack is temporarily living in a separate house as an investigation is being carried out.

The Netflix star, who appeared on the second season of "Cheer," didn't publicly address the incident as yet.

A family member of Ronald told KARK-TV he was now stable and was expected to survive.

A neighbor's door was also apparently hit by bullets but there was no word on other injuries, TMZ reported. It wasn't clear if any charges relating to the incident were filed.

Ronald shares Cassadee with his ex-wife Alisha Miller Dunlap, who had featured in TLC's "Cheer Perfection." Cassadee and Alisha had appeared in TLC's "Toddlers & Tiaras" when the former was just nine years old.
