  • Chelsea is reportedly battling RB Leipzig to sign another Timo Werner-like prospect, Adam Hlozek
  • Hlozek is currently valued at around $17 million
  • Werner is set to become the highest-paid player in Chelsea

Chelsea is reportedly hoping to sign another Timo Werner-like prospect from Czech Republic.

The Blues officially became the winners in signing RB Leipzig ace Werner. Chelsea has already announced a deal to sign the prolific goal scorer from the German side next month, completing its second pre-signing of the summer. However, ahead of sealing Werner’s Chelsea deal, Frank Lampard’s side is reportedly already pursuing another Werner-like prospect from overseas.

Back in January, Chelsea confirmed that Lampard will be putting his squad through a mini revamp. And while the signing of Werner was already a huge move, the Blues appear to be still recruiting talented youngsters.

According to Chelsea News, after reaching a deal for Werner, RB Leipzig and Chelsea are now both interested in signing Sparta Prague’s 17-year old striker Adam Hlozek, a youngster viewed as a potential Werner successor.

The report further revealed that Hlozek would be available for around €15 million ($16.8 million). Hlozek is considered as one of the hottest rising stars in the Czech league. Sources claimed that the Czech Republic under-21 international has a real “eye for goals” just like Werner.

However, adding Hlozek into the Blues squad could also mean another costly move. AS (via Besoccer.com) has recently revealed all the possible figures involving the Werner to Chelsea deal. The report stated Werner is set to earn €15.5 million ($17.4 million), just slightly higher than Hlozek’s reported price tag. In the process, Werner will become the highest paid player in the squad.

At this point, the German star’s transfer is expected to be around €53 million ($59.5 million) when completed. However, there are underlying figures reportedly associated with the deal. Aside from the €11 million ($12.3 million) signing bonus, Stuttgart, the club RB Leipzig signed Werner from, will also get money from the said transfer.

Stuttgart will reportedly get a portion of the money, which is expected to be around €8.2 million ($9.2 million). This is due to the clause that was agreed on when he changed teams: a sell-on fee and training compensation.

Overall, the Werner deal has cost Chelsea a total of €64 million ($71.9 million). And as soon as the player completes the next season and gets his wage, it will even go higher to a total future expenditure of €79 million ($88.7 million). Indeed, the Werner deal is a massive investment for one of the best strikers in the world.
