If the rumors are to believed, London-based Premiership side Chelsea have made Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid’s ace Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain their primary target and have supposedly prepared a hefty transfer bid to lure away the player to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea has faced a miserable time in front of the goal this season with the very costly Fernando Torres misfiring and hardly finding the back of the net. Although the Blues also have players like Uruguayan Edinson Cavani on their shopping list this summer, the inclusion of Higuain can end every speculation of other strikers joining the club.

The London-based club could bring in Higuain as a replacement for the club’s long-standing striker Didier Drogba who is expected to leave the club at the end of the season. A top Chelsea source has also revealed that Higuain is on top of the club’s shopping list and that the player will be a perfect fit in the team.

Chelsea are said to have prepared a massive bid of $56.64 million (£35 million) for the player in order to bring him over to London, according to a Sun report.

Gonzalo Gerardo El Pipita Higuain, who arrived at Real Madrid from Argentine Primera B Nacional side River Plate in 2006, has made as many as 217 appearances for the Santiago Bernabeu-based club and has managed to score 102 times in all competitions.
