New details about Ronnie’s late surrogate son Jason will be revealed in this week’s episode of “The Chi.”

According to the synopsis for Season 1, episode 6 of the Showtime drama, Ronnie (Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine) uncovers secrets about Jason’s (Lucien Cambric) past and gives a crucial piece of information to the police.

In the trailer for the episode, Ronnie meets with Detective Cruz (Armando Riesco) at the police station to tell him what he found out. While viewers have to watch the installment to learn what Ronnie discovered about Jason, it’s likely that Ronnie got all these new details about Jason from his phone, which Ronnie retrieved at the end of Season 1, episode 4.

Elsewhere in the next episode, Ronnie visits the mosque he passed by the night he was shot by Kevin (Alex Hibbert). In a sneak peek from hour, Ronnie finds the mosque empty, and just as he’s about to leave the place of worship, Raffy (Common) arrives and greets him.

When Raffy asks Ronnie what’s he’s doing there, the latter replies that he’s just looking for his gold chain which he lost the other night. For some reason, Raffy thinks that Ronnie is lying, and feels that he went there to seek Allah’s help.

“It took me 12 years … to find my way to Allah,” Raffy tells Ronnie. “We all walk in different speeds. Sooner or later you’ll catch your breath. The doors are always open.”

After introducing themselves to each other, Raffy gives Ronnie a hug, which makes the latter’s gunshot wound hurt a little. “Come by when you’re ready to lay that burden down,” Raffy tells Ronnie.

When Ronnie says that he doesn’t have any burden, Raffy quickly replies that “everybody’s got one.” “It’s [just] how you carry it. That’s the trick,” says Raffy who tells Ronnie that he doesn’t care how he got shot. “That’s not my business,” he says. “But if you want to talk it through, the door is always open.”

Also in the episode, Brandon’s (Jason Mitchell) actions further jeopardize his relationship with Jerrika (Tiffany Boone), and Emmett’s (Jacob Latimore) shoe hustle goes awry.

“The Chi” Season 1, episode 6, titled “Penetrate a Fraud,” airs on Sunday, Feb. 18 at 10 p.m. EST on Showtime.
