There are two massive changes with regard to the upcoming “Riverdale” spinoff, “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.”

According to Entertainment Tonight, the series will no longer be titled as such after the show’s rights were given to Netflix instead of The CW. The new show, which centers on the comic book character Sabrina the Teenage Witch, was supposed to air on the same network as its companion series, “Riverdale.”

However, executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa confirmed the changes via his Twitter account. He also revealed that Netflix has picked up the new show for two seasons. Each season is expected to have a total of 20 episodes.

Netflix also made an official announcement on Saturday. As of late, it is still unclear when the “Riverdale” spinoff will premiere.

“The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” are stories created by Aguirre-Sacasa for the comics between 19996 and 2003. They featured scarier and more mysterious storylines centered on the teenage witch, according to Deadline.

Aguirre-Sacasa will pen the pilot for the new series. It will be directed by Lee Toland Krieger. Other executive producers include Greg Berlanti, Jon Goldwater and Sarah Schechter.

Meanwhile, the original cast of “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” recently had a reunion. When they spoke with Entertainment Tonight, Melissa Joan Hart said that she’s more than willing to return to the show. “If we could go back to the set tomorrow, I would do it,” she said.

Beth Broderick, who played Aunt Zelda, wished the new team and cast of “Sabrina” the best of luck. “Good luck. I hope it works out for them. We love the character, we love the show, we love the whole spirit of it, and I wish them well,” she said.

The TV version of “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” aired for a total of seven seasons beginning in 1996. It initially premiered on ABC and eventually moved to The WB ahead of Season 5. Other cast members included Nick Bakay as Salem Saberhagen, Caroline Rhea as Hilda Spellman, Nate Richert as Harvey Kinkle, Jenna Leigh Green as Libby Chessler and more.
