Chris Hemsworth aired his grievances with news platform Daily Mail when they supposedly falsely reported he hired water trucks to water his million-dollar garden. It’s worth noting that this is during the tragic Australian brush fires and one of the worst droughts Australians have ever seen.

Hemsworth’s Instagram post declared that he rarely calls out tabloid news for its tendency to get things wrong because that comes with the territory of being an A-list actor. But the God of Thunder himself couldn’t stand idly by while this news was being spread.

The water trucks were meant for drinking and that’s it, the “Avengers” actor sternly clarified. Hemsworth detailed how most people in the area are without potable drinking water and have to use these kinds of measures to get water. His comments specifically call out Daily Mail’s lack of caring for the situation and their seemingly callous approach for accusing the Australian native actor of irresponsible, selfish behavior.

Hemsworth’s garden, which was the focus of the article, was never actually fed with drinking water, the actor further clarified. It didn’t take long for Daily Mail to update their article with the facts shared by Hemsworth. The new article reiterates everything Hemsworth said in his Instagram post. However, they do include some information from another perspective: a struggling macadamia nut farmer, who took note of Hemsworth’s “lush” green garden amid the terrible drought.

“I wish I had millions of dollars to buy that amount of water,” the farmer apparently said.

Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky have also been dedicating some time supporting the NSW firefighters who are fighting the brushfires, helping them to raise money. With the help of Make It Rain 2020, the couple is auctioning off workout training sessions, with all proceeds going to aid the firefighters still combating the flames.
