"Jurassic World: Dominion" director Colin Trevorrow has revealed that the highly anticipated movie, featuring Chris Pratt, is set four years after the events of 2018's "Fallen Kingdom."

The 45-year-old director noted that the dinosaurs are no longer living in a theme park and they have successfully taken over the world in the upcoming installment.

"They have been multiplying and living amongst us and clashing with us," Trevorrow told Entertainment Weekly on Wednesday. He co-wrote the previous installment, while director J. A. Bayona helmed the 2018 movie.

Trevorrow further explained how "Jurassic World: Dominion" movie will not only explore one particular environment but will also involve wilderness, urban, desert and snow areas.

"It's exciting to see these creatures navigate environments that they weren't built to survive in. They grew up in a theme park and now they're here!" he added.

Pratt, who portrayed Owen Grady, and Bryce Dallas Howard, who played Claire Dearing's character in the movie will try to save one of the dinosaurs' species called Parasaurs.

"He's not too far from where the dinosaurs got out in the last film," Trevorrow explained. "The parasaurs are in danger of being poached. There's a lot of shady types out there who want to get their hands on dinosaurs, so he's working to protect them."

However, the director didn't share many details about how Claire will save the species, but noted that she will be "questioning her methods."

"She's at a point where she's questioning her methods, and whether she can stay safe and fulfill the responsibility that she has to the other people in her life that care about her," Trevorrow added.

Besides Pratt and Howard, the movie will also feature Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum who appeared in the first installment, 1993's "Jurassic Park." The original star cast is coming back together after 29 years.

The official Twitter handle of the movie shared a five-minute, 29-second clip from the movie last month.

"Jurassic World: Dominion" is slated to release on June 10 next year.
