"Flip or Flop" star Tarek El Moussa appeared to joke about last year’s gun incident, in which he was involved after fight with then wife Christina El Moussa, on Instagram. However, the post apparently did not go down well with Christina who appeared to throw shade at him on the photo-sharing website.

TMZ reported Friday that Tarek tagged Christina in the Instagram photo where he is pointing up to a sign that reads "No Guns Weapons Of Any Type." He also added a middle figure emoji on top of the photo and wrote "or helicopters," in reference to the helicopter that police reached in at his home during the gun incident.

The post has been taken down, according to TMZ. The news outlet added, citing a source, Tarek uploaded the post thinking Christina would consider it funny. The source reportedly said he decided to put the middle finger in the picture to point at the entire drama at the time.

However, Christina did not seem to have taken the joke lightly and posted a cryptic message on her Instagram account. It read: "No time for bull---- when you're building an empire" against the backdrop of the Empire State Building.

The couple reportedly split last May but announced their separation in December. The following month, Tarek filed for divorce.

After the split, Christina was linked to Gary Anderson. However, the two reportedly parted their ways after a brief romance. She was then reportedly dating NHL player Nate Thompson. But, Entertainment Tonight (ET) reported the couple split

"Nothing dramatic happened -- it was super casual from the start, and they were never an official couple to begin with," a source told ET last month. "Bad timing on both their ends never really let it evolve into something serious. They remain friends and there are no bad feelings between them at all."

Earlier this month, Christina did an interview with E!’s “Daily Pop” where she was asked if she and Tarek every slept with each other after they broke up. To this she replied: “I have never gone back in the ex category.”

“We’re actually really good. We’ve been separated for almost a year now.” Christina said, adding, they have made “a lot of progress on [their] relationship.”

Before that, Christina opened up about her divorce in an interview with the entertainment website.

"Honestly, I'm doing really good. I'm in a really good place. The kids are really happy, they're healthy, Tarek and I are in a good spot. We have a lot of things that we're working on, cool things coming in the future, so we're just looking forward," Christina told ET in March. "Tarek and I have worked together about 10 years, and we're going to continue to work together. We're getting along really, really well right now."

After their breakup, speculations arose that the two may be ending their famous "Flip or Flop" show. However, ET reported March 29 that the El Moussas are in negotiations about taking their show forward and the two are shooting for the “Flip or Flop” show’s seventh season.

"They [Tarek and Christina] are in contract negotiations," a source close to the production told ET at the time. "The show is not ending."
