Cinco de Mayo commemorates the day the Mexican army defeated the French in 1862 at the Battle of Puebla, but it has become a holiday celebrated all over the world. On May 5 each year, the holiday is celebrated with tons of food, drinks and parties in the U.S.

On Cinco de Mayo, customers can enjoy a Corazón Blanco margarita and two BBQ Street Tacos for just $10.

Chipotle

Chipotle will give away five $500 Chipotle gift cards on its Instagram page for the last five fans to comment “last” on Chipotle's Cinco de Mayo post before 5:55 p.m. EDT Wednesday.

The food chain has also brought back its popular trivia game where winners can get free food as prizes until Friday. About 250,000 people can win free coupon codes for a buy-one-get-one item from the menu.

Cholula

Cholula will be giving away "replacement burritos" on Wednesday to customers who use the code "BURRITODOWN" when ordering online. The code unlocks $20 for any order that includes a burrito. Just make sure that you order through the DoorDash app.

Chili's

It's Cinco o'clock at Chili's! The restaurant will be offering $5 drink deals on some of its most popular margaritas which will be available at its participating branches for dine-in or to-go.

Freebirds World Burrito

With a $25 or more purchase at Freebirds, customers will be treated to a free side of chips and dip on Cinco de Mayo. Options include Freebirds' queso blanco, salsa or guacamole.

Hungry Howie

At just $5.55, you can enjoy a medium one-topping pizza by using the promo code CINCO in-store, online and with carry-out orders at participating branches.

On The Border Mexican Grill and Cantina

In light of the festivities of Cinco de Mayo, the food chain will be giving its first 100 people a commemorative shot glass this Wednesday. A special $5 "Cinco Rita" will also be on the menu.

Del Taco

For every $3 purchase on May 5, Del Taco will be giving you a free Crunchtada. Customers can choose between Crunchtada Tostada, Queso Beef Crunchtada or Chicken Guacamole Crunchtada.

WaBa Grill

For the whole month of May, WaBa Grill is giving away free avocados with its “Half-Ocado promotion," where every entree purchase gets you a free "Half-Ocado."
