Coco Austin has revealed the story behind the social media video she posted that features her 7-year-old daughter Chanel twerking.

In the video the actress posted Monday, Austin, Chanel and their family members are all dressed in blue Christmas pajamas and wearing colorful and festive headbands. The family can be seen cheering on the 7-year-old as Chanel shows off her dance moves.

"Gotta love family time!" Austin wrote in the caption.

The "Ice Loves Coco" alum explained that she and the adult members of their family were filming a TikTok video in her front yard when Chanel suddenly ran out "in the middle to bust a move and make [them] laugh."

"She loves to joke," she added of her daughter.

Austin also included hashtags comparing her and Ice-T's little one to Tina Belcher from "Bob's Burgers," who is famous for doing the same dance on the Adult Swim show, Page Six reported.

Though Austin made it clear that Chanel was just doing the move to make them laugh, the video still received mixed responses from social media users. Some felt it was inappropriate for a child to twerk and for a video of it to be shared on social media.

"[Shaking my head]. Just why? This is not OK!" one commented. Another added, "Not a good look at all."

"I don't find this OK, especially on social media. There are so many sick minds out here, this child's safety and privacy should be kept better. But, to each their own," a third fan wrote.

But many others came to Austin's defense and thought that the moment was just adorable and funny.

"I normally wouldn't agree with a little girl twerking, but [Coco] can do no wrong in my eyes. ... Your daughter is a doll and I know in my heart it wasn't made to look like she was twerking, just simply dancing and busting a move. Nothing malicious about this. You are a great mom! Chanel made me chuckle shes so funny her laugh is contagious, I love it," one follower wrote.

"[It's] just a child having fun. PLEASE stop making this bigger than a child having fun," another commented.

"Baby girl out here like Tina on 'Bob's Burgers.' This was too cute," a third user opined.

Austin has received criticism for her parenting style in the past. She sparked controversy when she put Chanel in a stroller and bathed her in the kitchen sink when her daughter was 6.

Austin clapped back at her critics in November, pointing out that a number of them likely have household practices and traditions that others would consider strange.

"They're like, on me," she told Page Six at Heidi Klum's 21st annual Halloween party. "But the thing is, everybody's a hypocrite I feel because they do certain weird things in their house."

"I don't think that bathing my daughter in the sink is weird. If I have a huge-ass sink, why not? It's just easier for me," she added. "And if I have to carry her everywhere and it's just easier to bring a stroller, why not? She's petite, she's super small, and it's easier."
