“Riverdale” actor Cole Sprouse turned heads at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party not only because of his suave black and white ensemble and coiffed new ‘do, but mostly because he showed up at the event sans girlfriend Lili Reinhart.

Fans of The CW series and of the couple were worried when Sprouse appeared at the L.A. party without Reinhart by his side. However, the young actress clarified in her Instagram Story why she wasn’t able to attend the star-studded gathering.

In a photo she shared with her fans, a barefaced Rienhart is seen all bundled up while eating Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream. “Here’s my Vanity Fair Oscar party look,” the actress, who plays Betty opposite Sprouse’s Jughead on the show, playfully wrote.

Reinhart’s decision to not attend the Oscars after-party came less than two weeks after she revealed on social media that she’s started treatment for her mental problems, particularly depression and anxiety.

“I have anxiety and depression. And today I started therapy again,” she wrote at the time. “Therapy is never something to feel ashamed of. Everyone can benefit from seeing a therapist.”

In an interview with Seventeen magazine last April, the 22-year-old admitted that she was often judged back in high school because she didn’t try to socialize and step out of her comfort zone that much. However, she’s thankful that a therapist and a few close friends helped her manage her social anxiety.

Meanwhile, it wasn’t just Reinhart who failed to attend the Oscars after-party. Lead actor KJ Apa, who plays Archie, was also missing. Camila Mendes, who portrays Veronica, showed up with co-star Charles Melton, who plays Reggie on “Riverdale.”

Mendes and Melton’s appearance together wasn’t a total shocker since the two confirmed last October that they were romantically involved. The couple even made their red carpet debut at the GQ Men of the Year party last December.

Another “Riverdale” cast member who joined the glamorous event was Madelaine Petsch, who gives life to Cheryl Blossom on the show. The actress also flew solo like Sprouse, but she definitely stunned the crowd in her Paolo Sebastian gown.
