With the new year just around the corner, moviegoers are already looking forward to 2017 to get their laughs. While the month of January will be slow for comedy films — save for the Sundance premiere of “Beatriz at Dinner” — the laughs will pick up in February with “The Lego Batman Movie” and “Fist Fight.”

The late-spring and early-summer will see a number of comedy films being released including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s “Baywatch” reboot and Will Ferrell's “The House.” The year will also see the release of “Pitch Perfect 3,” which has a December premiere date.
