  • Floyd Mayweather was challenged to a push-up contest by the Mexican-American former champ

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is not shy of showing the people all the bundles of money he’s got in his illustrious boxing career – from bringing it wherever he goes or just counting them and posting them on his social media networks.

Now that the world needs a lot of help, especially financially, the undefeated boxer’s help would be a great aid to everybody – patients, medical professionals, cleaners, and a lot more people involved in the sanitation process – and that is exactly what Oscar Dela Hoya is looking to do.

The 47-year old Mexican-American former boxer is still keeping to his regimen by doing push-ups but at this point, he is putting a twist on it by matching it with an amount to donate for the relief of coronavirus management in the country. “The last nine days, I've done about 250,000 pushups and for every pushup, I donated a dollar,” said the 47-year old former boxing star via TMZ Sports.

“So why don't we do this, let's challenge our peers, our friends, business leaders, politicians, or business or sports owners and donate money, create awareness."

The former world champion also presented an idea on how can someone determine how much are they willing to chip in to the fund for coronavirus battle. “Instead of challenging everybody to do pushups, why don't we challenge everybody to do pushups but every pushup you do, donate a dollar,” suggested Dela Hoya. “If you do five pushups, donate five bucks. If you do ten pushups, donate ten bucks.”

“Imagine millions and millions of people doing this, we can help out a lot, a lot of people especially the people that are helping us in these hospitals.”

The former Olympic boxing gold medalist called out a couple of names, including UFC President Dana White and team owners to join his cause. "You don't need to donate crazy amounts but you could create awareness so America could start donating money as well.”

When it comes to his former rival in the ring, he challenged Mayweather to make a donation. “Floyd, let's match what I donated, for instance, you know, or I challenge you to push up contest,” issued “The Golden Boy”. “Whoever wins, you gotta donate more money. Let's do this, let's help people out,”

Dela Hoya also recognized the monetary help that Mayweather has done to other organizations and he’s hoping that Mayweather, who was named the richest athlete of the decade, would also do the same in resolving this pandemic.

“We have to come together (during) these tough times,” finished the boxing icon.
