Rapper Meek Mill is filing charges of racial discrimination and defamation against the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. The Philadelphia native blew up social media over the weekend when he was denied entry into the hotel and casino.

The incident occurred on May 25 when Mill and crew headed to the to see DJ Mustard at the Las Vegas hotel's Marquee Nightclub. In a video shared to the 32-year-old rapper’s Instagram, you can see him being denied entry and questioning the staff before ultimately deciding to leave.

“Cosmopolitan hotel/casino going to extreme racist levels to keep too many black entertainers and black people…” the rapper captioned the clip. "They said they gone lock me up.. I'm like for what I've been once to a party with jayz ..... Some of these casinos have a bunch of Tactics to keep the level of blacks down …. but love to take our money!!!! This happens to a lot of black entertainers not just me either!! I felt crazy being put out by these white men for no reason!”

Mill was so upset by then incident that he then took to Twitter stating he “needs lawyers ASAP…”.

TMZ spoke with Meek’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, and reported that Mill, whose real name is Robert Rihmeek Williams, will ask for “heavy monetary damages” for "lying and humiliating Meek.” According to the outlet, Tacopina also claims that "the Cosmo is scrambling now, coming up with 2 different versions of events, both of which... are lies -- that Meek was involved in a prior incident, and he was denied because the club was at capacity."

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas denies claims that they denied Meek entry because of his race and have since released the following statement.

“At The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, the safety and security of our guests is our top priority. The recent situation regarding Meek Mill related to a matter of security, not race, and any reports citing otherwise are false. We pride ourselves on providing an inclusive environment, with zero tolerance for discrimination. Under different circumstances, Meek Mill would be welcomed to the resort, but not at the compromise of his personal safety and the safety of our guests.”
