A Pennsylvania couple claimed they saw Jesus looking over their baby on the left side of the sonogram, reported Fox-affiliate WPMT Tuesday.

The couple obtained the sonogram and said they saw a man in a robe with a crown of thorns on the left of the image. To them, it appeared to be Jesus watching over their unborn child.

“When they gave it to us, um, to me, it’s Jesus and it looks like Jesus,” Alicia Zeek, the mother, said to WPMT.

The father, Zac Smith reacted similarly, saying, “This is distinct! There’s another face looking at my daughter.”

Zeek gave birth to a healthy baby girl, Briella, Tuesday. Her first two pregnancies had complications. Her daughter was born with pre-axial polydactyly, a condition that results in having two thumbs on a hand. Smith said Zeek's second pregnancy almost took her life. Their son was born with cleft lip and palate as well. Although the couple said they are not religious, the figure the couple saw in the sonogram reassured them that Zeek’s pregnancy would progress smoothly. The ultrasound technician told the expecting parents that their baby, Briella, appeared to be healthy.

“Once she said everything is good and we looked at the picture, I was like, ‘Look babe, we have nothing to worry about,’” Smith said. “When I seen it, it almost brought tears to my eyes. I was speechless, I just couldn’t believe it. I really didn’t believe what I was seeing.”

The couple posted the photo on Facebook and asked their friends what they saw. Smith said he sees the sonogram as “the angel or God or Jesus, however you want to propose it” and that he looks at it as his “blessing.”

A sonogram is an unusual place to see the face of Jesus Christ, but it is not the only unusual reported place to see the likenesses of religious figures.

In 1996, a customer in a Nashville coffeehouse found a cinnamon bun that resembled Mother Teresa. In 2004, Diana Duyser, 10, saw the face of the Virgin Mary on her grilled cheese sandwich. The sandwich sold for $28,000 in 2014. Earlier this year, two Texas women said they saw the face of Jesus Christ on a tree. Betty Clack told local media she was praying outside on Ash Wednesday and saw the face of Jesus appear on the tree.
