Cristiano Ronaldo is once again being linked to a return to Old Trafford.

Shocking news broke shortly after Porto eliminated the reigning Serie A champions Juventus in this year’s UEFA Champions League Tuesday as rumors of Ronaldo leaving the club began to swirl.

Ronaldo's current deal with Juve is set to expire next year, but their devastating Champions League loss this season has prompted the five-time Ballon d’Or winner to look for a new club, beIN Sports correspondent and CNN’s Tancredi Palmeri reported, citing an unnamed source.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is considering Juventus 'not at his level' as per source from within his entourage, therefore looking for a bid from a European top club,” Palmeri tweeted.

Coincidentally, just hours before Palmeri’s report hit the internet, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expressed his strong desire to sign Ronaldo, opening up the idea of a reunion with his former Red Devils teammate.

“There are a few players I’ve played with that I’d love to have in my team, of course,” Solskjaer said during a Q&A session on Man United's official website. “I’d love the player Roy Keane, I’m not sure if I could manage him though!”

“I’d sign him every day of the week, Roy was so influential but then again, I played with Cristiano [Ronaldo] and he’s been the best player in the world alongside [Lionel] Messi for the past 10 to 15 years now, so Cristiano,” he pointed out. “You’d take him in your team, for sure.”

Since Ronaldo’s move to Juventus from Real Madrid in 2018, his name has often been linked to a move to an array of clubs almost every transfer window.

Aside from the constant rumored return to Man United, a sensational comeback to Real Madrid is also being considered once again, Spanish outlet Marca reported.

However, amid all the transfer rumors linked to his name, Ronaldo insisted that he’s not fading away into the shadows. More importantly, the legendary striker suggested that he is sticking with Juventus.

“More important than the number of falls you take in life, is how fast and how strong you get back on your feet... True champions never break! Our focus is already in Cagliari, in the Serie A struggle, in the Italian Cup final and in everything that we can still achieve this season,” Ronaldo wrote on Instagram.

“It’s true that the past belongs in museums (I should say!), but fortunately, football has memory... and so do I! History can’t be deleted, it’s written every single day with resilience, team spirit, persistence and lots of hard work. And those who don’t understand this, will never achieve glory and success,” he continued.
