Jason Sudeikis won best actor in a comedy series at the 2021 Critics' Choice Awards, and he revealed in his acceptance speech that his ex Olivia Wilde was right about one thing with regards to his show.

Sudeikis won the honor for his role on Apple TV's "Ted Lasso," which also bagged the trophy for best comedy series.

"A great number of you have been so vocal about your enjoyment of this show, and it's been very, very flattering," he was quoted by E! News as saying while accepting his acting award.

"We've greatly appreciated it, especially for a young television start-up like Apple... so thank you," he added.

The comedian and actor also thanked his family -- ex Olivia Wilde and kids Otis Sudeikis, 6, and Daisy Sudeikis, 4.

"I want to thank my kids, Daisy, Otis. I want to thank their mom, Olivia, who had the initial idea to do this as a TV show," the actor said.

He recalled a conversation he had with the actress. He remembered her telling him, "'You and Brendan [Hunt] and Joe [Kelly] love doing that so much, you should do it as a movie or TV show.' I was like, 'Nah'... She was right."

Wilde later took to Twitter to congratulate Sudeikis and the "Ted Lasso" team on their win.

"Congrats to Jason and the entire Ted Lasso family on your @CriticsChoice wins! @jasonsudeikis @hanwaddingham @brendanhunting @joekellyjk47 @VDOOZER! So happy for you guys. I hope this means we all keep wearing hoodies when the ceremonies are in person next year," she tweeted on Sunday.

In November 2020, the two called off their engagement after seven years. "The split happened at the beginning of the year," an unnamed source told People.

They have been working on co-parenting their kids. "It's been amicable and they’ve transitioned into a great co-parenting routine. The children are the priority and the heart of the family’s relationship," the source said.

The actors began dating in November 2011, and Sudeikis proposed to her in 2012.

Now, Wilde has moved on and is romantically linked to Harry Styles. They reportedly met on the set of the upcoming film “Don’t Worry Darling,” which has Wilde attached as a director and Styles as an actor.

Sudeikis, on the other hand, has been spotted with Keeley Hazell several times. But an insider told Us Weekly that "he and Keeley are not dating."

"He’s still really heartbroken about this. It’s still way too soon for anything serious at all," added the source.
