Rapper DaBaby took to Instagram on Monday to issue an apology for his homophobic remarks during his Rolling Loud Festival performance last month.

In his post, the rapper noted that social media "moves so fast that people want to demolish you before you even have the opportunity to grow, educate, and learn from your mistakes."

He went on to explain that "as a man who has had to make his own way from very difficult circumstances, having people I know publicly working against me — knowing that what I needed was the education on these topics and guidance — has been challenging."

"I appreciate the many people who came to me with kindness, who reached out to me privately to offer wisdom, education, and resources," he noted. "That's what I needed and it was received."

He then went on to address the LGBTQ+ community and people suffering from HIV/AIDS, writing, "I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made. Again, I apologize for my misinformed comments about HIV/AIDS and I know education on this is important. Love to all. God bless."

The recent apology came after the 29-year-old rapper was dropped from a number of music festivals, including Chicago's Lollapalooza Festival, Governors Ball in New York and Day N Vegas in Nevada.

Lollapalooza music festival's official Twitter handle announced Monday that DaBaby was no longer be included in the event's lineup.

"Lollapalooza was founded on diversity, inclusivity, respect, and love," it wrote. "With that in mind, DaBaby will no longer be performing at Grant Park tonight. Young Thug will now perform at 9:00 pm on the Bud Light Seltzer Stage, and G Herbo will perform at 4:00 pm on the T-Mobile Stage."

DaBaby received the backlash after he told the crowd at the Rolling Loud Festival, "If you didn't show up today with HIV, AIDS, any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that'll make you die in two, three weeks, put your cellphone light up."

"Fellas, if you ain't s--k a ni--a d--k in the parking lot, put your cellphone light up. Keep it f--king real," he also said.

A number of celebrities condemned the rapper's homophobic rant, including Madonna, who said, "If you're going to make hateful remarks to the LGBTQ+ community about HIV/AIDS then know your facts."
