The Dallas Cowboys had arguably the most impressive win of Week 6, defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars 40-7. The victory kept Dallas in second place in the NFC East, giving them a chance to seize control of the division next week.

Dallas and the Philadelphia Eagles are tied for second place with a 3-3 record. The Washington Redskins sit in first place at 3-2, but that could change in Week 7 when they host the Cowboys. A win at FedExField Sunday would give Dallas a perfect 2-0 record in the division, putting them atop the NFC East with 10 weeks left in the 2018 NFL season.

The New York Giants are alone in last place with a 1-5 record. They've suffered losses to both Dallas and Philadelphia.

Dallas has had an up-and-down season, alternating wins and losses for six straight weeks. After losing on the road to the Carolina Panthers in the season opener, the Cowboys beat the New York Giants at AT&T Stadium in Week 2. America’s Team traveled to the west coast and was defeated by the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3. Dallas hit a last-second field goal to defeat the Detroit Lions in Week 4.

The Cowboys are 0-3 on the road and 3-0 at home. They are 1.5-point road underdogs, per OddsShark, against Washington next week.

The Eagles host the Panthers next week. The Giants visit the Atlanta Falcons.

Perhaps Dallas turned a corner with their win Sunday afternoon. Facing one of the NFL’s top defenses, the Cowboys had little trouble moving the ball. Dak Prescott completed 17 of his 27 pass attempts for 183 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. Ezekiel Elliott carried the ball 24 times for 106 yards and a score. Prescott also had 11 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown.

Prior to putting up 40 points against Jacksonville, Dallas hadn’t scored more than 26 points in a single game this season. The Cowboys are 25th in points per game.

Only the Baltimore Ravens are giving up fewer points per game than the Cowboys. Even without linebacker Sean Lee in recent weeks, the unit has performed like one of the league’s best. Dallas hasn’t given up more than 24 points in any game this season.
