Danny Garcia blasted Manny Pacquiao for not wanting to fight him but still using his name for hype.

In the past few weeks, Garcia appeared to be the frontrunner as the opponent for Paquiao’s next fight. And while the smoke starts to settle, Garcia suddenly started to doubt the Filipino legend’s openness to fight him.

During a brief talk with Fighthype.com, the former welterweight world champion stated that he grew tired of fighters, including Pacquiao, “using his name” to hype themselves up. According to Garcia, “Pacman” once kept mentioning his name in the past, but for some reason, Pacquiao decided to fight Keith Thurman instead.

“They just sayin’ it cause of the hype. And then when it come down to it nobody really wanna fight. Pacman said it and then he fought Thurman. So he’s sayin it again but let’s see,” Garcia stated.

Despite Garcia’s claim about Pacquiao, Freddie Roach still think that Garcia is the best opponent for his fighter. A few days ago, Roach revealed that Team Pacquiao has been eyeing to book a fight in February next year. And based on what Roach was told, Pacquiao’s camp is strongly considering Garcia.

“I believe in February. They’ve been talking about a February fight,” Roach revealed.

“Danny Garcia looks like a good fight. He’s a hell of a fighter,” Roach added.

Last month, Garcia already made a unique and savage plea to be Pacquiao’s next opponent. As per the 31-year-old boxing star, he recognize Pacquiao’s legacy but he refers himself as a “legend killer,” who will end the legend’s career. Moreso, he believes that he is better than Pacquiao’s last opponent – Thurman.

Garcia also emphasized that he has better “one-punch” knockout power than Thurman and apparently, it is one way to finish a lethal puncher like Pacquiao.

“Manny Pacquiao is a legend I respect him but Danny Garcia is a legend killer!” Garcia pointed out.

“I have better timing than Keith (Thurman) and I have better one-punch knockout power than Keith. And I’m a better counter-puncher than Keith,” Garcia responded when asked about how he would be able to finish Pacquiao.

The list of Pacquiao’s possible opponents has already been trimmed down. Now that Errol Spence Jr. is very likely to be out of the picture, it appears that Pacquiao is now linked to just two names in the welterweight division. Aside from Garcia, the rematch with Floyd Mayweather is reportedly still on the table.
