  • David Schwimmer, who played Ross Geller on "Friends," stills earns $20 million per year from the series' reruns
  • The Hollywood actor has an estimated net worth of $100 million
  • Schwimmer is rumored to be dating Jennifer Aniston, who played Rachel Green on the comedy show

David Schwimmer, most famous for his role as Ross Geller in the comedy TV series “Friends,” still earns millions of dollars per year from reruns of the show similar to his co-stars, including Jennifer Aniston.

Despite airing its last episode in 2004, “Friends” still pays each member of the main cast a hefty sum of money from reruns. This is a result of the six main cast members’ 2% cut from the show’s syndication revenue, which is about $20 million from Warner Bros.’ lucrative $1 billion annual earning, as per USA Today.

The massive share that Schwimmer receives is a stark contrast to what the six actors made during the first season of the show. When it first aired, “Friends” paid the main cast only $22,500 per episode, according to MarketPlace.

But during the show’s third season, Schwimmer, along with his five co-stars, were able to negotiate higher salaries, bringing their per-episode earnings to $100,000 each. In the ninth season, the actors were receiving $1 million per episode, which was the highest per-episode deal for a 30-minute TV show at the time, Independent reported.

Schwimmer’s $20 million earning from reruns of “Friends” has greatly contributed to his massive net worth of $100 million. The entire series paid the actor a lucrative $90 million in base salary alone and he earned even more through backend bonuses and royalties, as per Celebrity Net Worth.

Despite the actor’s massive net worth and earnings, he is far from being the wealthiest “Friends” cast member. That title goes to Aniston, who played Rachel Green on the show and has a massive $300 million net worth. Her fortune comes from her expansive movie projects, including “Bruce Almighty,” “Marley & Me” and “The Break-Up,” the South China Morning Post reported.

Recently, the two actors, who played a romantic couple on the hit TV show, are rumored to be dating in real life. The speculations come months after Schwimmer and Aniston revealed during the “Friends: The Reunion” special that they had mutual crushes on each other while filming the series.

“After the reunion, it became clear that reminiscing over the past had stirred up feelings for both of them and that chemistry they’d always had to bury was still there. They began texting immediately after filming and, just last month, David flew from his home in New York to see Jen in LA,” a source told Closer of their alleged romance.
