She was manipulated into shooting a gun at her mother’s wedding with the promises that the husband she believes is dead is actually alive. Now, Sami is more determined than ever to find answers about EJ on the Wednesday, Sept. 26 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

When Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) wanted to ruin Marlena (Deidre Hall) and John’s (Drake Hogestyn) wedding, she tried encouraging Sami (Alison Sweeney), who was drugged at the time, to shoot John in exchange for information about EJ. She swore to her that the husband she thought was dead was actually alive, and had been injected with the same serum as will (Chandler Massey), but she refused to say anything else on the NBC soap if Sami didn’t pull the trigger. In the end, during a struggle with Eric (Greg Vaughan) for the gun, it went off, hitting Marlena.

Since then, with the exception of when she snuck away to try and get answers, Sami has basically been left in jail. However, everyone believes Marlena came out of her coma and is fine (unaware that she is really still hidden away on life support and is being impersonated by Hattie), so now, charges may be dropped against her. With her freedom back, Sami will quickly make sure to try and get the answers she seeks.

Immediately, Sami will head to the DiMera Mansion, where she once lived, to find Kristen. She wasn’t officially found there because Stefan (Tyler Christopher) has been hiding her in the tunnels, but Sami will know that she’s definitely somewhere on the grounds. Now, her journey may begin—as long as she can find Kristen.

However, even if she does find Kristen, it will be a long road ahead for the still grieving widow, because her former sister-in-law won’t easily give her what she wants. Still, a preview clip for the fall season shows what appears to be Sami finding him—so she may have success after all.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
