After a fierce battle against the Gadoll, 90% of the world population was wiped out. “Deca-Dence” anime premieres with the episode titled “Ignition.”

The remaining humans joined forces to resist the mysterious Gadoll and built the gigantic mobile fortress called “Deca-Dence.”

The fortress is humanity’s last bastion and new hope for a bright future.

The citizens of Deca-Dence fall into two categories – Gears, they are the warriors who battle the Gadoll daily, and Tankers, they don’t possess any skills to fight off the enemies.

According to the official synopsis for “Deca-Dence” Episode 1, Natsume, who is a Tanker girl, meets Kaburagi, a realist and armor repairman. Natsume dreams of becoming a Gear one day.

The meeting between these two characters is set to change the course of this world.

Natsume lost her right arm after a Gadoll attack when she was a child. Later, she ends up working under Kaburagi.

Talking about Kaburagi, he is a veteran repairman and is known for being blunt. It is revealed that he was once a great fighter, but lost his interest to battle and spends his days working as a repairman. However, things start to change when he encounters Natsume. Her reckless and cheerful nature rubs off Kaburagi.

The cast of “Deca-Dence” includes Tomori Kusunoki as Natsume, Katsuyuki Konishi as Kaburagi, Eiji Takeuchi as Fennel, Mei Shibata as Fei, Yoshino Aoyama as Linmei, Eri Kitamura as Kurenai, Kohsuke Toriumi as Minato and the voice artist for Pipe is listed “???” Anime News Network noted.

The anime series is directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa, and Hiroshi Seko has penned the script. Music for the series is composed by Masahiro Tokuda. The character design is conceptualized by pomodorosa and animation character design by Shinichi Kurita.

“Deca-Dence” Episode 1 is scheduled to air Wednesday (July 8). Fans can watch the episode online via live streaming on Funimation. Currently, the episodes will release in Japanese with English subtitles. Apart from Funimation, the series will air on AT-X, TV Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, TV Aichi, BS 11, and Sun TV.
