An Amazon delivery driver wins hearts for saving the lives of three puppies from a burning home in Columbia County, Florida.

According to a statement by the Columbia County Fire Rescue, the driver was delivering a package at around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday on her route in the area when she noticed smoke coming from a home. She immediately called 911 and alerted the officials, local news reported.

With the driver's prompt response, firefighters reached the site on time and extinguished the flames before they could spread further into the house.

Upon searching the house, the firefighters found three Boston Terrier puppies trapped inside. The homeowners were not at the residence during the time of the fire.

Firefighters treated the three puppies and revived them from smoke inhalation, officials said.

"During a structure fire yesterday, 3 puppies were saved and revived from smoke inhalation. Thank you to the Amazon driver who noticed the smoke and called 911," Columbia County Fire Rescue posted on its Facebook page.

"Since the homeowner was not at home at the time, she saved the home and the puppies' lives!"

In a comment on the Facebook post, the homeowner's mother, Lisa Ann Dunn, thanked the good samaritan and provided an update on the wellbeing of the puppies after the incident. She said her daughter's dogs are doing well but stabilizing.

"Those are my daughter's dogs that we love very much. They are doing well this morning but still in the hospital. Thank you will never be enough!" Ann Dunn commented. "They will need to be there another 48 hours most likely. They had significant lung damage but seem to be stabilizing."

Ann Dunn also appreciated one of the rescuers, Amanda Donoho, who helped by paying the deductibles for the dogs' care at the hospital.

Amazon spokesperson Owen Torres hailed the "heroic" efforts of the driver for saving the lives of the puppies. In a statement to the outlet, he said, "We're so proud and grateful to work with her, and all of the amazing drivers who go above and beyond to serve their communities."
