Wardell Stephen “Dell” Curry, a former professional basketball player, is the father of National Basketball Association (NBA) superstar Stephen Curry.

Dell played in the NBA from 1986 to 2002. His career spanned several teams, including the Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers, Charlotte Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors.

He finished his career with the Raptors from 1999 to 2002. Dell was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year in 1994 and the Charlotte Hornets all-time leading scorer.

After Dell retired from the NBA, he took a job as an assistant JV men's basketball coach at Charlotte Christian High School, where Stephen was a freshman.

To date, Dell’s net worth stands at $8 million, as per Celebrity Net Worth.

The former basketball superstar played a huge role in the success of his son Stephen, who currently plays for the Golden State Warriors.

According to reports, the younger Curry, considered as the greatest NBA shooter of all time, learned basketball by watching his father.

On Thursday, the Golden State Warriors clinched the team's fourth NBA title in eight years against Boston Celtics.

When the clock hit zero, and the title was secured, a visibly emotional Stephen immediately headed straight to his father, and the two embraced.

Stephen talked about his conversation with his father in an interview with ESPN. He said his father told him how proud he was of him.

Dell is also the father of Seth Curry, who currently plays for Brooklyn Nets.
