Add the Denver Broncos to the list of NFL teams that have had their schedule altered during the 2020 season because of coronavirus.

The Broncos were supposed to visit the New England Patriots this Sunday afternoon. The Week 5 game has been moved to Monday night, for now, in light of Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore testing positive for coronavirus earlier this week.

New England’s facility is closed for a third straight day Friday. The team won’t practice, holding virtual meetings instead. The rest of the Patriots continue to test negative, and New England will host Denver Monday at 5 p.m. EDT if that remains the case this weekend.

The Patriots’ Week 4 contest against the Kansas City Chiefs was moved from Sunday to Monday earlier this week, because quarterback Cam Newton tested positive for the coronavirus.

Denver is scheduled to host the Miami Dolphins in Week 6 and the Chiefs in Week 7. The Broncos have their bye in Week 8 before visiting the Atlanta Falcons and Las Vegas Raiders in Week 9 and Week 10, respectively.

Gilmore’s positive test gives the Broncos one fewer day to prepare for their matchup with the Dolphins, a fact that appears to annoy some Denver players. The Patriots have a bye in Week 6, so the postponement won’t affect their preparation for an upcoming game.

“Why are we getting punished when we did nothing wrong?” Broncos defensive end Shelby Harris tweeted Thursday. “Pats go on a bye next week and we are stuck on a short week playing the Dolphins help it make sense.”

Every NFL team should get used to the idea of its schedule being changed as the season continues during the pandemic.

An outbreak within the Tennessee Titans’ organization has completely upended that team’s schedule. Tennessee’s Week 4 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers was moved to Week 7. The Titans’ Week 5 matchup with the Buffalo Bills has been pushed from Sunday to Tuesday.

Buffalo was supposed to kick off the Week 6 slate by hosting Kansas City on “Thursday Night Football.” As long as Tennessee has no more positive tests and is able to play in Week 5, the Bills will face the Chiefs Sunday in Week 6.

Sunday’s matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and New York Jets is up in the air amid reports Friday morning that a Jets’ player tested positive for the coronavirus.
