Destiny 2 will release Sept. 8 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Developer Bungie announced the news Thursday after officially teasing the game earlier this week. Check out the game’s first teaser below:

Bungie also announced a limited beta program for Destiny 2 this summer. Specific dates and other details for the beta have yet to be announced, but users who pre-order Destiny 2 early enough can get beta codes and play the game early.

Along with confirming Destiny 2’s release date, Bungie also teased a gameplay livestream on May 18 that’ll show gameplay from the title. Here’s Bungie’s first synopsis for the plot in Destiny 2:

Humanity’s last safe city has fallen to an overwhelming invasion force led by Ghaul, the imposing commander of the brutal Red Legion. He has stripped the city’s Guardians of their power, and forced the survivors to flee. You will venture to mysterious, unexplored worlds of our solar system to discover an arsenal of weapons and devastating new combat abilities. To defeat the Red Legion and confront Ghaul, you must reunite humanity’s scattered heroes, stand together, and fight back to reclaim our home.

Extensive gameplay details have yet to be revealed, but reports have suggested that Bungie wants to take a clean slate between Destiny and Destiny 2. Potential changes include reset gear, new planets and a refreshed character lineup for players
