Developer Bungie is promising loyal “Destiny” players a “legendary” surprise sometime this week, according to a post on Twitter by the Bellevue, Washington-based developer on Monday.

The first-person shooter launched in September last year for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Activision, the game’s publisher, called “Destiny” the most successful new gaming franchise launch of all time after “Destiny” shipped more than $500 million of inventory to retail stores worldwide. As of September, more than 11 million gameplay sessions have been played in North America alone.

In November, Bungie revealed that more than 9.5 million users have registered in “Destiny,” which leaves many to wonder: How will Bungie properly thank players? No one can be certain, but a number of users are speculating on a Reddit forum post. Some believe that Bungie will bestow users with strange coins, while others believe they’ll be gifted exclusive weapons or armor.
