Jim Edmonds is setting the record straight on allegations that he cheated on his wife, former "The Real Housewives Of Orange County" star, Meghan Edmonds.

"Regrettably, I had a lapse in judgment. I engaged in an inappropriate conversation with this person," the former baseball player told Us Weekly in a statement on Thursday.

The allegations that Jim, 48, had been unfaithful to Meghan were first reported by All About The Tea earlier that same day. According to the website, "a ROCK SOLID source" said that the former MLB player engaged in an affair with a woman known as the "baseball madame" named Jenn while Meghan was pregnant with their now 1-year-old twin boys, Hart and Hayes.

All About The Tea claimed that this isn't the first time that the 48-year-old had allegedly cheated with the "baseball madame." The two apparently met nine years ago when Jim was playing for the Cincinnati Reds and engaged in a "whirlwind romance" while he was married to his second wife, Allison Jayne Raski, whom he shares two kids with and was married to from 2008 until 2014.

Also published by the website are explicit screenshots of the alleged photos and text messages sent to Jenn by Jim. Despite this, Jim told Us Weekly that “at no time was there any type of relationship or physical contact" with his suspected mistress.

“Clearly, I made a very poor decision to expose myself and my family to this type of person. For this, I am truly sorry and sought forgiveness from my wife,” Jim continued. “I’m outraged over the intent to ruin my family and intend to take legal action. We were never having any problems in our marriage. My attorney is in possession of documents wherein this person has admitted fabricating large portions of her 'story'.”

Meghan and Jim married in October 2014 and, along with their twins, have a 2-year-old daughter named Aspen. Jim also has two daughters with his late first wife, Lee Ann Horton, who died from cancer in 2015.

The couple has previously appeared on "The Real Housewives Of Orange County" on Bravo. They left the show after three seasons in 2017.
