Jenelle Evans’ custody battle over her eldest son didn’t go the way she planned this week. The “Teen Mom 2” star broke down in court on Wednesday after a judge denied her full custody of her 7-year-old son Jace.

Jenelle’s appearance at a Brunswick County, North Carolina, court ended with the MTV reality star being denied her bid to get full custody of Jace, reports the Ashley’s Reality Roundup. Jace, whom Jenelle welcomed with ex boyfriend Andrew Lewis in 2009, has been in custody of Jenelle’s mother, Barbara Evans, since he was a baby.

The Ashley reports that Jenelle, 25, was “in tears” at the courthouse after learning of the ruling. The site shared that MTV’s cameras were on hand to capture all of the drama.

While the outcome is said not to have been completely in Jenelle’s favor, the site reports that Jenelle has been awarded more time with Jace.

“The insider says that Barb offered to share custody with Jenelle, and that they are working out a set custody schedule so that Jenelle will have the boy on certain days,” reads the report.

The mother and daughter’s newfound custody agreement is speculated to disallow Barbara from withholding Jace from Jenelle, which fans have seen her do on “Teen Mom 2” in the past.

While Jenelle is said to be getting more time with her oldest child, The Ashley reports she isn’t done fighting her mother for full custody just yet. “Jenelle plans to try to get full custody of Jace again,” reports the site.

Jenelle has not surfaced on social media since the court date but that hasn’t stopped fans from writing on her Instagram account about her custody battle.

“Sorry to hear you didn’t get full custody but I’m so happy for you that it’s moving in the right direction!! Thank you for sharing with your fans, we love and support you unconditionally,” one fan wrote Thursday.

“I really hope you get Jace back soon. He needs to be with his mommy! Yes Barbara has done good looking after him till now but it’s time she lets go and does the right thing by Jace!! Which is letting him live with his mom and siblings,” wrote another fan.

Fans first started commenting on the situation with Jace following Jenelle’s Mother’s Day post earlier this month. After Jenelle posted a photo of her 2-year-old son Kaiser, whom she shares with ex Nathan Griffith, and daughter Ensley, who she welcomed with fiancé David Eason in January, fans took notice to Jace’s absence in the pictures.

“Prayers for you as you battle to get Jace back you have come such a long way and are a amazing mother. Prayers that you will have him back with you full time so that all your babies will [be] under one roof with you!” one fan wrote.

“Not one person can give a valid excuse as to why Barbara should deny her the right to see her son on Mother’s Day. It's not right. Period,” said another.

“I’m so sorry to hear about your custody with Jace and I think its a shame that your mom is doing this to you and Jace,” wrote another fan. “You have tried so hard to fight for your son, it shows.”
