Draya Michele and fiancé Orlando Scandrick have welcomed their first child together. The former “Basketball Wives LA” star announced the arrival of her baby boy on Twitter, revealing he was born last week.

Michele’s news that she had already given birth came as a surprise to fans because the swimsuit designer had been flooding her Instagram account with photographs from her maternity shoots. She explained she wanted to wait to announce her son’s arrival so she could spend time with him. “I had him last week, and I just wanted to take time to enjoy him as my own little special gift,” she wrote. “Plus, I had those amazing photos I had to get out!”

According to People magazine, the baby was born in Burbank, California, April 8, and Michele and Scandrick named their newborn son Jru (pronounced Drew). He was 20 inches long and weighed 6.5 pounds. “We are superexcited to add our sixth member to the family,” Michele told the media outlet. “He’s such a good, healthy baby, and everyone is already infatuated with him. His brother and sisters are in love.”

Michele, 31, has another son, 13-year-old Kniko, from a previous relationship. And Scandrick, who plays for the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, has twin daughters, 6-year-old Tatiana and Taylor. The couple has not released any photos of their new bundle of joy yet, but Michele posted a video on Instagram of herself showing off her bare baby bump as she danced to Beyoncé’s “Check on It” during a photo shoot. Michele wrote that she went into labor five hours after that photo shoot so she now considers the “Formation” singer Jru’s “fairy godmother.”
