Sadie Robertson kicked off the new year with a series of unfortunate events.

On Friday, the "Duck Dynasty" alum, 24, took to Instagram to share a video of husband Christian Huff holding their 7-month-old daughter, Honey James, as the child waved to her from outside of a window.

In the caption, Robertson detailed her "quite interesting" first few days of 2022, which included contracting "flurona," a combination of the flu and COVID-19, and finding out that rats were "invading" their home.

"It started off by me getting flurona (flu + covid) (yikes) so obviously I was so bummed to miss passion, but I was so thankful that God gave me the strength to still preach my message to an empty room despite being so sick," Robertson wrote.

Robertson gave her speech at the Passion 2022 conference virtually while they were in Atlanta, Georgia. She was thankful that the event was online so she was still able to participate.

However, when they were on their way home from Atlanta, they received a call that they had "a couple of rats invading our home" and had to stay somewhere else temporarily as they worked on getting the rats out. According to Robertson, they had been unable to return home for four days as she was writing the post.

"It's disgusting and we are exhausted from getting over sickness and being out of our home," she continued. "So here we are floating around trying to make the most of it. Thankful to be healthy now. Lord, help us to consider it joy!"

She concluded her message: "P.s. I'm sad to say 'Ratatouille' the movie hits different now."

Robertson's loved ones and fans wished her a speedy recovery and sent her messages of love and support in the comments section. A number also praised her for staying strong amid their family's difficulties.

"You’re amazing!!" Madison Prewett wrote.

"Aww sweetest," Rebecca Robertson added.

"Hope you feel better soon and get your home back!!" one user commented.

"That is a tough start to the year! What a wonderful perspective God has given you to make the best of it," a fourth follower wrote.

In October 2020, the former "Duck Dynasty" star opened up about battling COVID-19 while she was pregnant with Honey when she appeared on the "WHOA That’s Good" podcast. Robertson described it as "really a dark sickness," citing the physical pain and the loneliness of isolation.

"I am a very healthy person. I exercise a lot. I eat pretty good. I take care of myself. I honestly thought if I got COVID it would not be that bad ... But no, I had it horribly," she said.

A number of celebrities recently announced that they had contracted COVID-19, including Tori Spelling, James Corden, Seth Meyers and Whoopi Goldberg.
